In the game Sequence, the player arranges a list of items in the correct order. For example, the player might be asked to arrange the stages of a process, the steps in a procedure, or the elements of a hierarchy.

The mental processing required to arrange these items correctly helps the learner to:

Move information from short-term memory to long-term memory
Deepen understanding of content that occurs in a given order
